What values should be used when adding a new host ?
Please set the Setup Tutorial for instructions on how to setup a new host.
I am seeing 'No Media Found' but I have added media
If the error is occuring on either the 'TV Shows' , 'Music' , or 'Movies' tabs this may suggest media has not been added to the XBMC 'Library'.
For detailed instructions on adding media to the library please see the XBMC wiki page
http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=Set_Content_(Video_Library)
If you do not wish to use the library functionality then media folders added to XBMC can be accessed via the 'Video Sources' and 'Music Sources' tabs within the XBMC Remote.
I am getting 'Error Connecting'
The 'Error connecting' message is raised when the remote is unable to find XBMC with the details provided.
To confirm that the XBMC is setup and the correct host, port and optionally password is entered you can verify the information by accessing XBMC in your webbrowser.
Type the following in to your web browser:
http://xbox:*PASSWORD*@*HOSTNAME*:*PORT*/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=getcurrentlyplaying
Replace *PASSWORD* *HOSTNAME* and *PORT* with the values entered into the interface on XBMC.
It should give you either information about what is playing or 'Filename: [Nothing Playing]' if no media is currently playing.
If it cannot connect then please recheck that the Setup Tutorial was followed correctly.
No Cover Art
If no cover art is being shown for Movies & TV Shows there are two solutions:
1. Upgrade XBMC to the latest version. As of XBMC Atlantis Beta 1 (18-Sep-2008) cover art should work out of the box.
2. Provide XBMC Remote with the path to the 'userdata' folder.
This will be different depending on platform and configuration.
Defaults for each platforms
Windows
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\XBMC\UserData
Mac
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Plex/userdata
Xbox
Q:\UserData
Linux
/home/USERNAME/.xbmc/userdata
(Make sure to replace USERNAME with your User Name !)
